Rena Boone discusses her experience as an educator teaching in several U.S. schools that have integrated Consciousness-Based EducationSM (CBE) into their curriculum. She also talks about her historic TM Teacher Training Course in Ethiopia and her work establishing a Washington, D.C., TM Center for individuals and families dealing with the trauma of violence and drug abuse.

Ms. Boone has been a classroom educator and consultant for more than 40 years. She has devoted much of her life to transforming the field of education through CBE, the holistic development of students, teachers, and administrators. She was a primary school teacher for more than 20 years, teaching at the first school to integrate the Transcendental Meditation technique and CBE into the routine of the school day. She later worked as the Director of the Quiet Time program at Ideal Academy Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., where students practiced the TM technique as part of their daily schedule.

Since 2018, Ms. Boone has been a regional director of the David Lynch Foundation, with a focus on helping to establish The Meditation Center (TMC) at THEARC to bring holistic health and well-being to individuals and families in this important yet underserved area of our nation’s capital.
