Walter Day talks about his remarkable life—from founding the iconic Twin Galaxies arcade, then becoming the official referee of competitive video gaming, and later reinventing himself as a musician. He also reflects on the transformative role in his life of the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique, which he learned in 1969. He attributes much of his creativity and success to the experience of pure consciousness in his daily TM and TM-Sidhi® practice, underscoring his lifelong commitment to personal growth and expanded awareness. Mr. Day became a TM teacher in 1970.

Walter Day is a true pioneer in the world of competitive video gaming and a legendary figure in gaming history. In 1981, he established Twin Galaxies as both a video arcade and the first official organization dedicated to tracking and verifying video game world records. He quickly became the trusted authority for video game scores, earning him the role of assistant editor for Guinness World Records’ video game scores from 1984 to 1986.
