Agriculture expert and educator Jim Schaefer, PhD, discusses his work with Soil Technologies, a company dedicated to applied microbiology and regenerative agriculture. He also shares his involvement with Partners for World Peace, an organization advancing educational and agricultural initiatives around the globe.

Dr. Schaefer highlights his current project—the creation of Maharishi Agriculture University College in Zambia—which integrates Consciousness-Based Education® with regenerative agriculture. He explains core principles of regenerative farming and emphasizes the role of elevated consciousness in addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.

A teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique for 50 years, Dr. Schaefer has devoted his career to leadership in Consciousness-Based Education, regenerative organic agriculture, and global humanitarian development, contributing to TM programs and Maharishi Vedic AgricultureSM initiatives worldwide.

Dr. Schaefer is president of Soil Technologies Corp., a 43-year-old Fairfield-based company specializing in the development, manufacture, and global distribution of natural agricultural technologies. He is also president of Partners for World Peace, a nonprofit that has invested more than $1 million over the past seven years to help over 75,000 Africans learn the TM technique.

Dr. Schaefer is an associate professor in the Department of Regenerative Organic Agriculture at Maharishi International University (MIU) and director of the department’s PhD programs, training the next generation of agricultural scientists. He has also helped lead global initiatives as a board member of Global Projects for Peace and Maharishi World Peace Vedic Organics. As Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the Global Country of World Peace, The Netherlands, he advises on international agricultural development and food-security projects.

Dr. Schaefer is currently helping to establish Maharishi Agriculture University College in Zambia to serve African nations and advance sustainable development across the continent.
