A TM practitioner since age 15, Martin Brett shares insights from a lifelong engagement with TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s programs and their practical value in daily life. A real estate developer and community builder, he focuses on Maharishi Vastu® architecture and creating communities that support not only shelter, but also well-being, connection, and consciousness.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience, Mr. Brett discusses the evolution of the 180-unit MIU North Campus Village in Fairfield, Iowa, and the lessons learned from navigating changing economic conditions, regulations, and community needs. He also speaks about his current work on North Campus Ridge and how collaboration, environmental responsibility, and practical innovation are shaping the next generation of housing in Fairfield.
In 1999, Martin Brett moved to Fairfield, home of Maharishi International University (MIU), so his five-year-old daughter could attend the Maharishi School, and soon began developing land and building homes in what became the MIU North Campus Village.
