Filmmaker, educator, and teacher of the TM technique Amine Kouider explores how he combines storytelling, consciousness, and social change in his filmmaking. He has traveled the world as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor—filming in environments ranging from high-security prisons to refugee communities. He shares his personal journey, creative process, and the role his TM practice has played in shaping both his life and his films.
Mr. Kouider also highlights his work documenting schools that use Consciousness-Based® approaches to help children rise above poverty and overcome difficult circumstances, including at Father Gabriel Mejia’s Hogares Claret Foundation in Colombia and at the Dhammajarinee Witthaya School for girls in Thailand.
Amine Kouider is chair of the Department of Cinematic Arts and New Media at Maharishi International University (MIU) in Fairfield, Iowa, and an associate professor in the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts. He also serves as Co-Director of the MFA in Documentary Filmmaking and Social Transformation, a program that blends development of consciousness with hands-on filmmaking to help students create documentaries with real-world impact.

Born and raised in Algeria, where his father led the national TM organization, Mr. Kouider began practicing the TM technique as a child. He earned his MFA in filmmaking from the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts at MIU and now mentors emerging filmmakers in combining technical skill with purpose-driven storytelling.
