Heather Hartnett discusses what she believes are the keys to both a successful business and an increasingly fulfilling personal life while living and working in one of the busiest environments in the world.

Ms. Hartnett is the CEO and founding partner of Human Ventures, one of New York City’s premier startup studios and early-stage venture funds. Under her leadership, the company has invested in and co-built more than 30 companies, including Reserve (acquired), TheSkimm, Current, Tiny Organics, and Clark (acquired).

Prior to founding Human Ventures, Ms. Hartnett’s venture capital career spanned roles in several firms, including Lightspeed Venture Partners in Menlo Park in California, Claremont Creek Ventures in Oakland, and CityLight Capital in New York City. She has been listed as one of the 50 most influential women in America by Hearst Digital Media Publications. She is also a frequent speaker at TechCrunch Disrupt and is a regular contributor to Forbes, where she covers a range of venture capital topics.

Ms. Hartnett was a founding member of the David Lynch Foundation leadership team. She has been practicing the TM technique since she was 10 years old and is a graduate of Maharishi International University.
