Ms. Clarke is an outdoor-adventure journalist from Glasgow, Scotland, who received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Missouri in 2004. She was certified as a Hatha Yoga instructor in 2009 and was among the first graduates of the master’s program in Maharishi AyurVeda at Maharishi International University in 2017.

Julia Clarke is the author of two books—Restorative Yoga for Beginners and Living in Balance with Maharishi AyurVeda—which she co-authored with Dr. Keith Wallace and Dr. Karen Pirc. When she’s not writing or teaching, Ms. Clarke can be found exploring the great outdoors on foot or on skis as part of her full-time job as a staff writer for Adventure.com. She also writes about yoga, Ayurveda, wellness, and travel for several UK and US publications.
