Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation and author of the New York Times bestseller Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation, joins TM Talks host Mario Orsatti to discuss a 1984 interview with a Boston Globe reporter in which Maharishi Mahesh Yogi answers questions about how the group practice of the TM technique can positively impact the world.
Maharishi introduced the Transcendental Meditation program worldwide beginning in 1959. Since then, more than 10 million people of all ages, cultures, and religions have learned the TM technique.
In 1963, Maharishi published his seminal book, Science of Being and Art of Living, which was translated into 15 languages. His second book, published in 1967, was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the Bhagavad-Gita: A New Translation and Commentary. He wrote many more books and circled the globe numerous times, speaking with world leaders and lecturing widely.
Maharishi also inspired a revolution in the scientific study of higher states of consciousness. Over 700 published studies over the past 50 years have demonstrated the far-reaching benefits of the TM technique and its advanced programs in all areas of life.
Mr. Orsatti, TM Talks host and Senior Teacher of the David Lynch Foundation Center for Health and Wellness, broadcast this episode on July 17, 2022.
