On January 20, Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., M.A.R.R, global leader of the Transcendental Meditation organizations, and Bob Roth, the CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, hosted an international celebration of the life of David Lynch, which streamed live to hundreds of thousands of people around the world. In this TM Talk, we hear personal stories of some of those who worked closely with Mr. Lynch at the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace.

On January 15, 2025, David Lynch—filmmaker, painter, photographer, musician, singer, sound designer, actor, and philanthropist—passed away. He was best known for writing and directing the films The Elephant Man, Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, The Straight Story, and Mulholland Drive, which are often regarded by critics as among the best films of their respective decades. Mr. Lynch has also received awards for his ground-breaking television series, Twin Peaks.

In this TM Talk, we hear personal stories of some of those who worked closely with Mr. Lynch at the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace.

Mr. Lynch has received many other awards. In 2019 the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented him with the Academy’s “Honorary Award.” This special award celebrates extraordinary achievements by a leader in motion pictures. Past recipients include Charlie Chaplin, Cecil B. DeMille, Elia Kazan, Sidney Lumet, Akira Kurosawa, Lina Wertmüller, Jean-Luc Godard, and Federico Fellini.
