Ringo Starr talks about meeting TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 1960s and learning the TM technique. He also discusses his upbringing in Liverpool in the 1950s and being saved by music and the gift of meditation. Mr. Roth answers probing questions about the scientifically documented capacity of meditation to cultivate personal growth and create peace for society.
Sir Richard Starkey MBE, known professionally as Ringo Starr, is a musician, songwriter, and actor who achieved international fame as the drummer for The Beatles. He sang lead vocal on some of the band’s well-known songs, including “Yellow Submarine,” “With a Little Help from My Friends,” and “Octopus’ Garden,” which he also wrote. In his solo career, he has written or co-written well over 100 other songs.
Mr. Roth is an internationally known teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique. He is also the author of The New York Times bestseller Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation, published by Simon & Schuster in 2018.
