Matt Haas, 19, is currently taking a gap year between high school and college. He was born and raised in New York City and spent last fall in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, working as an intern for a startup. He loves watching films, going to museums, and seeing his favorite artists in concert. A lifelong skier, he worked this winter in the mountains of Park City, Utah, skiing and enjoying Sundance screenings whenever he had a day off.
This spring, Matt plans to complete his gap year with volunteer work. In the fall, he will attend McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he looks forward to pursuing interests in philosophy, psychology, and art. After learning the Transcendental Meditation technique a year ago, he has become an avid practitioner and advocate of the practice.
Mario Orsatti, the host of TM Talks and Director of Advanced Techniques of the TM program for the United States, interviewed Sandra and Matt Haas on February 25, 2024.
