Ukrainian TM Teachers Alisa Feliz and Oleg Avagian talk about how thousands have been able to learn the TM technique during the war in Ukraine, even in its most dangerous areas. They discuss Ukrainians’ experiences as a result of practicing Transcendental Meditation during this tumultuous time, and their own personal fulfillment of teaching the program to people there. They also share a video of Ukrainian Meditators speaking about learning the TM technique.
Alisa Feliz was a lawyer when she learned the TM technique in 2014. Soon after, she decided to become a teacher and completed the TM Teacher Training Course in 2019. In 2020, Ms. Feliz became national director of the TM program in Ukraine. She oversees the activities of all Ukrainian TM teachers and organizes the expanded availability of TM for all who have remained in Ukraine despite the war.
Oleg Avagian, a professional poet and guitarist, has been one of the most dynamic TM teachers in Ukraine since his Teacher Training Course in 1993. He also organizes the expansion of the TM program throughout Ukraine, and in 2009 and in 2017, he helped organize film director David Lynch’s visits to that country. This resulted in the establishment of the David Lynch Foundation, Ukraine, of which Mr. Avagian is now the president.
