Benedetta Riva, Hedge Funds Specialist in Global Wealth Management at UBS, talks about the role her TM practice has played in helping her navigate the challenges of professional life in New York City London, and Zurich.
Ms. Riva was born in Milan, Italy, and grew up in England. She was a UBS hedge funds specialist in London and recently moved to their headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to joining UBS, Ms. Riva was a Managing Consultant at Mastercard, advising on and selling data-driven technology solutions to U.K. banks and financial tech clients. Before Mastercard, she worked for Institutional Investor in New York City, a media and events business for the global investment management community. During her time there, she traveled across the world to build and manage relationships with pension and sovereign wealth funds, and later moved to London to lead the Europe and Middle East Investor Relations team.
Outside of work, Ms. Riva expresses her passion for contemporary art on the Development Board of the Contemporary Art Society of London, a charity that raises funds to purchase artwork for museums and other public institutions in the United Kingdom.
Ms. Riva is a graduate of King’s College, London, where she studied English Literature. She also earned a master’s degree in journalism at Columbia University in New York City. She has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique since 2010.
