Musician Theresa Golden discusses music as an energetic force through which she expresses love for her community and humanity. A musician from the age of five, she learned the TM technique as an adult, which led her to study at Maharishi International University (MIU), where she’s now pursuing a doctorate in transformational leadership and emergence coaching. Ms. Golden discusses how the Science of Creative Intelligence, taught at MIU, spontaneously nurtures deeper levels of consciousness and expands emotional awareness in profound ways.
As a self-described spiritually jazzy R&B vocal stylist, Theresa Golden began her singing career in her church choir. Today, she is a highly favored alumnus of The World Stage Jazz Vocal Music Workshop, and her greatest passion is performing on stage.

In 2023, Ms. Golden was granted the Jazz Living Legend Award. She was one of the selected community leaders of Los Angeles chosen to adorn The Heart of Hyde Park Mural, which covers the side of the U.S. Bank building in South Los Angeles and is a visual representation of the neighborhood’s history, culture, and identity, serving as a tribute to community heroes and a celebration of Hyde Park’s collective spirit.
Christine Albers, host of TM Talks, interviewed Theresa Golden. This interview was aired on June 8, 2025.
