Guillermo Vidal talks about his remarkable life, first as an orphan in the United States and eventually becoming mayor of Denver, Colorado. He reflects on his experience as an immigrant, the challenges of leadership, the transformative power of the TM technique, and his evolving views on aging—topics he explores further on his YouTube channel Aging Fearlessly.

Guillermo Vidal is an author, former mayor, and longtime public servant and community leader. Born in Cuba, he immigrated to the United States in 1961, at the age of 10, with his two older brothers. Upon arrival, they spent three years in an orphanage before reuniting with their parents.

Guillermo Vidal talks about his remarkable life, first as an orphan in the United States and eventually becoming mayor of Denver, Colorado.

He also served for 23 years in the Colorado Department of Transportation. He holds a BS in civil engineering from the University of Colorado, Denver.

Mr. Vidal is the author of two books: Catch and Release, a memoir about rediscovering his authentic self, and Boxing for Cuba, which offers a powerful perspective on the immigrant experience.
