Award-winning, nationally acclaimed abstract artist Francis Scorzelli joins host Christine Albers to discuss his work and how he intuitively allows his paintings to evolve through a process of adding, scraping away, and layering paint. He talks about how dreams, memories, and unexpected discoveries find their way into his work—and why he deliberately leaves space for each viewer to have their own experience of a painting.
Mr. Scorzelli is a longtime practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi® programs. He reflects on the connection between his inner experience and creative process and how consciousness influences what emerges on the canvas.
Francis Scorzelli’s work explores the interplay of intuition and logic, dream and memory, color, texture, depth, and movement. He has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, including in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and St. George, Utah. His paintings have also been featured in four invitation-only museum exhibitions in California and in the Visual Dialogues exhibition at the Sulkin/Secant Gallery at Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica. His work is held in corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
