Maharishi International University (MIU) professor Dr. Ayako Huang joins host Christine Albers to explore how the development of consciousness influences the way we lead, teach, collaborate, and respond to a rapidly changing world. Her early experiences with Buddhist meditation in Taiwan and her discovery of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi® programs at MIU provide an important foundation for the way she approaches education, service, leadership, and human development.

Dr. Huang’s work brings together consciousness, leadership, sustainability, organizational learning, and human-centered AI. She shares her perspective on how we can create organizations that are not only successful and sustainable, but also more human, aware, and collaborative.

Dr. Ayako Huang is an Associate Professor of Management and Director of the MBA in Sustainable Business at MIU. Her work explores a question that grows more urgent as AI becomes part of daily decision-making: What does it mean to lead from within when machines can think for us?

Dr. Huang’s work brings together consciousness, leadership, sustainability, organizational learning, and human-centered AI.

She believes a leader’s clearest judgment comes from being established in Being, the settled inner awareness developed through TM practice. From that foundation, she helps students and leaders combine consciousness, systems thinking, emotional intelligence, and reflective learning so they can use AI wisely rather than depend on it.

Dr. Huang studied in Canada and in Seattle and Spokane, Washington, before earning her PhD in Management from MIU in 2012.

Christine Albers, host of TM Talks, interviewed Ayako Huang, PhD. This interview was aired on October 4, 2026.
