Kabuika Kamunga, TM Teacher, manager, and journalist, shares her life story and many accomplishments, including her vital work teaching Transcendental Meditation in her home country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where large numbers of people have learned the TM technique.
We learn about her vision of creating a better world of peace and harmony, starting with Africa, where she helps individuals, even in war zones, to achieve inner peace and unlock their full potential. She says, “Through strategic leadership and meditation, I am committed to fostering a more equitable and peaceful world.”
Kabuika Kamunga has a master’s in business administration from Maharishi International University, with a specialization in sustainable business and marketing/communications. Most recently, she worked at the Mayo Clinic as a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Program Manager and Communications Strategist as an expert in building inclusive environments that foster community engagement.

As a journalist, Ms. Kamunga has reported from Washington, D.C., for Religion News Service and worked in South Africa for the Mail & Guardian weekly newspaper. She hosted the Global Overnight program for Chicago Public Radio and contributed to the innovative radio station Vocalo.org. She has pursued investigative stories in Mozambique, South Africa, and France, and her work has been broadcast on various Chicago radio stations and cable TV channels. Her writing has been published in the Daily Herald and Current magazine.
