Colin Denhart is an award-winning independent filmmaker, TV producer, and songwriter from the Midwest. He has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique since June 2017 and the TM-Sidhi® program since July 2019. Mr. Denhart shares the story of his rise in the film and music industry and how TM practice has catapulted his creative success. Mr. Denhart also discusses how he has incorporated his interest in spirituality into horror films.
Mr. Denhart was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, and is a 2014 graduate of Indiana University, where he studied film and television production and business. After a series of successful short films and music videos in the 2010s, he completed his award-winning feature film, Sister, in 2021. His recent work includes the video for the song “Black Widow,” sung by Shakeeda; a second Sister film that was about to be released in film festivals at the time of this interview; a third Sister film in post-production; a delightful comedy called Frieda from Attica; and several more music videos.

Since Mr. Denhart appeared as a guest on TM Talks, his film Sister II has received several awards. Sister II was the winner for Best International Feature Film at the Tamizhagam International Film Festival, India; the Best International Feature Film at the Rohip International Film Festival, India, and the Best Feature Film and Best Indie Feature Film at the Sequoia Spirits Film Festival.
Outside of film, TV, and music, Mr. Denhart is an avid student of theology who is involved in several religious and volunteer organizations; he has studied the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, and many other spiritual books. He credits his practice of TM and his study of the works of TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as one of the most significant factors in both his spiritual development and his success in filmmaking.
