Writer and teacher Linda Egenes talks about how she began her writing career with a book about the Amish communities in Iowa. She also discusses her other five books on a range of subjects, how she stays healthy, clear, and creative in her senior years, and what it’s like to now be fulfilling her dream of writing a novel about an Amish family.
Ms. Egenes is the author of more than 500 articles on meditation and healthy living and six nonfiction books, including Visits with the Amish: Impressions of the Plain Life and five co-authored with Kumuda Reddy, M.D.: For a Blissful Baby: Healthy and Happy Pregnancy with Vedic Medicine; Conquering Chronic Disease through Maharishi Vedic Medicine; Super Healthy Kids: A Parent’s Guide to Maharishi Ayurveda; All Love Flows to the Self; and The Ramayana: A New Retelling of Valmiki’s Ancient Epic.
A practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation technique since 1972 and a Certified TM Teacher, Ms. Egenes is an adjunct faculty member at Maharishi International University (MIU) in Fairfield, Iowa, where she has taught graduate courses in creative nonfiction.
