World-famous sitarist Reshma Srivastava has been a musician since the age of six. At 16, she met TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the Netherlands, and she describes his grandfatherly influence on her life. Hailing from Allahabad, India, sitarist Reshma Srivastava inherited her musical gift from her family, especially her father, tabla maestro and author, Professor Girish Chandra Srivastava. She began her lifelong journey in music under the guidance of her father and her uncle, Professor Satish Chandra Srivastava, a disciple of the famed sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar. In addition to her traditional music education, she earned a master’s degree in music from the University of Allahabad, India.
