Manisha Mittal, M.D., discusses ways to use both western medicine and Maharishi AyurVeda® to help individuals recover from illness. She explains how Ayurveda can empower people to enliven the inner intelligence of nature, strengthen their immune systems, and naturally prevent illness.

Dr. Mittal is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and a leader in the field of holistic medicine. She is Rheumatology Director for the program in Graduate Medical Education at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California, and chair of the Clinical Preceptorship at California Health Sciences University, where she is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council.

Natural medicine is in Dr. Mittal’s blood. Her great-grandfather was a leading expert in Ayurveda, the world’s oldest system of prevention-oriented, natural medicine, and was awarded India’s Presidential Medal of Honor for his influence as a doctor of Ayurveda.

Dr. Mittal has been training in Maharishi AyurVeda at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa. She is inspiring a paradigm shift in medicine from a disease-treatment to a prevention-oriented approach by balancing mind, body, and consciousness. To further her work in this area, she founded the Moksha Holistic Center in Fresno. She also co-hosts a wellness segment for the Central Valley Today Show.

Dr. Mittal and her husband, Vivek Mittal, who is also an M.D., live in Fresno with their three children.
