Hassan Tetteh, M.D., M.B.A., is the Health Mission Chief at the U.S. Department of Defense, a U.S. Navy Captain, an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, adjunct faculty at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., as well as a thoracic surgeon at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Tetteh is a best-selling author of four books, including Gifts of the Heart, Star Patrol, The Art of Human Care, and Success Strategies. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a board member of the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health.

Dr. Tetteh began practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique after a challenging deployment to a forward operating base in Afghanistan, where he served as a combat trauma surgeon.
