Congressman Tim Ryan is known as a dynamic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is considered a champion of efforts to improve the health and well-being of American families and children, make college more affordable, and revitalize America’s cities. He is the author of Healing America: How a Simple Practice Can Help Us Recapture the American Spirit and The Real Food Revolution: Healthy Eating, Green Groceries, and the Return of the American Family Farm.
Representing Ohio’s 13th District, Congressman Ryan is currently serving his ninth consecutive term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee and co-chairs the Congressional Manufacturing Caucus.
Congressman Ryan shares his experiences and speaks about how meditation in general is an important tool for everyone to meet the special challenges of this moment:
“The call for us is the inward journey, to really understand the capacity of human beings… to try to find some clarity. Instead of getting into fights on social media, let’s take some time, 20 minutes twice a day… to go inward. That will then give us a cultural shift, a shift in awareness. Then engage the world from that different perspective. That’s the call—the journey inward. That meets the moment more than anything.”
Congressman Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bowling Green State University and a law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. He studied abroad as part of the Dickinson School of Law’s International Law Program in Florence, Italy.
Mario Orsatti, the host of TM Talks and Senior Teacher of the Center for Health and Wellness, a division of the David Lynch Foundation, interviewed Congressman Ryan on July 12, 2020. This popular episode was rebroadcast on August 22, 2021.

This gives me hope for our future, our country, our government, for everybody. Looking forward to more ‘babies’ in our government to switch how things are being done. The old ways are not working anymore and if all the root causes are discovered & understood, better solutions can come from that.
