Don Arney, a long-time practitioner of the TM and TM-Sidhi® programs, talks about his career as an inventor and businessman and how his TM practice helps him dive deep within to find inspiration and creative solutions to everyday problems. When asked what he is most proud of in his career, Mr. Arney says, “Inventing useful things—especially the Bambi Bucket® that has stood the test of time and has saved many lives and properties.”

Mr. Arney is from British Columbia, Canada. His unique approach to solving problems has resulted in a series of inventions used around the globe. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.Sc. in biology. In 1978, he founded SEI (Science, Engineering, and Innovation) Industries, which supplies over 50 unique products serving more than 50 military forces and diverse commercial enterprises.

When asked what he is most proud of in his career, Mr. Arney says, “Inventing useful things—especially the Bambi Bucket that has stood the test of time and has saved many lives and properties.”

Mr. Arney’s most widely adopted invention, the Bambi Bucket, launched to a worldwide audience at the Helicopter Association International annual trade show in January 1984. It is used in aerial firefighting and has helped save millions of hectares of forest and many lives. Now used in 116 countries, it has become the standard in helicopter firefighting. For this invention, Mr. Arney was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame, on May 4, 2017, in the National Building Museum in Washington.
