Stephen Franze—a sports psychologist, mental performance and ice hockey coach, and former physical trainer—discusses his work with athletes, focusing on how they can recognize and overcome common mental and emotional challenges. He shares his goals for developing students’ self-awareness by enhancing communication and strengthening their identity, both within and beyond their sport. Mr. Franze also reflects on his personal experience with the TM technique, explaining how it shaped his mindset and how it can help athletes reach their full potential.

Stephen Franze holds a master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in sports psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. His work centers on helping athletes cultivate a deep, self-motivated passion for learning and performance. He collaborates closely with youth, high school, and college athletes—as well as their parents and coaches—to build trust, enhance communication, and support each athlete’s unique psychological and emotional needs.
