The Transcendental Meditation technique is being adopted by CEOs, physicians, educators, and military leaders to help address the global pandemic of trauma and stress in businesses, hospitals, schools, and veteran and active duty services.
Bob Roth, CEO of the David Lynch Foundation (DLF), interviews three highly successful regional leaders at the Foundation about their work, passion, and achievements in bringing the TM program to key areas of society.
Rena Boone is the David Lynch Foundation Regional Coordinator for Washington, D.C., and the Executive Director of The Meditation Center at THEARC, which serves the community in Wards 7 and 8 in southeast D.C.
She has been a TM teacher for the past 40 years as well as a classroom teacher and consultant. Since 2018 she has been helping to eliminate the epidemic of toxic stress and trauma that undermines the health and well-being of individuals, families, and the community as a whole in our nation’s capital.
Joshua Pittman is Senior Manager of Veterans Programs for the David Lynch Foundation. He began practicing the TM technique at the age of 16 and became a TM teacher in 2005.
For over five years, Joshua has been teaching the TM technique to military veterans, primarily at the Manhattan and Bronx VA hospitals in New York, where he has seen powerful transformations in his students relieved of symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress. He is excited to be teaching the technique to frontline medical workers in the newly launched “Heal the Healers Now” initiative.
Lynn Kaplan is the Regional Director for the David Lynch Foundation in Los Angeles, and has been implementing TM programs for a number of specific populations in the Los Angeles area for 10 years.
She serves inner-city students and their families, veterans with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress, frontline health providers, women survivors of domestic violence, and people in recovery from substance abuse disorder.
This interview and discussion was hosted by Maharishi International University for the National Coherence Campaign (more below) on October 4, 2020.
